Sayil Camacho
Sayil Camacho (she/her) is an interdisciplinary scholar, president of the Mutual Action for Social Advancement Alliance (MASAA), and holds a visiting scholar appointment at UCLA Latina Futures 2050 Lab. Sayil’s published work includes setting the methodological standard for operationalizing the principles of Transformative Mixed Methods and critically examining academic entry, mobility, and knowledge production participation among academic migrants and historically excluded student populations. Sayil is the principal investigator of the mixed methods research project titled “Systemic Inequality within the Higher Education Ecosystem: The Case for Systemwide Affirmative Action,” which aims to overturn the Students for Fair Admissions V. Harvard and Students for Fair Admissions V. University of North Carolina Supreme Court of the United States decision in the tradition of the social science research that overturned Plessy V. Ferguson.
