If you are reading this, you probably lit up when you saw the faces on our Mosaic Alumni Collective wall. You read about our mission and felt the words as you read them. You got that we were all about people —changemakers of color— and place —the South— and screamed, “YESSSS, these are my people, my village, mi gente!” You saw that we were based in Nashville and thought, “YES, that is the place I want to be!”
ABOUT MOSAIC CHANGEMAKERS
Mosaic Changemakers weaves a better South by uplifting, growing and connecting leaders of color.
Our flagship project, the Mosaic Fellowship, brings together changemakers of color for a year-long intellectually rigorous and restorative program. We strengthen our individual and collective power to lead transformative change and build our muscles as collaborators and intersectional thinkers and doers.
Mosaic Changemakers exists because we believe the way forward must center Black, Brown, and Gold leaders as the founding mothers and fathers of a new —and renewed— nation, weaving together the mosaic of our social fabric.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Who are you?
You're a socially conscious human who takes great joy in people, and thrives most when you get to work WITH them to get something done. You are critical and passionate about the many places our world needs to improve, and that drives your passion for creating CHANGE. In your undergraduate experience you have met challenges, pursued opportunities for leadership, and been inspired to figure out the best path for you to have a meaningful impact in your career.
You have friends that are pursuing campus recruiting for lucrative private sector jobs or to live internationally. You admire all those aspirations and yet see so much opportunity to lead and make a difference in the American South. You want your career to begin with a rigorous opportunity to both learn and contribute, and to be surrounded by leaders that inspire you.
You want to help tell the stories of changemakers of color and their work. You want to put your communication and leadership skills to use in the pursuit of multiracial, multicultural coalition building.
You are drawn to our work because it is hard, because it is energizing and because it is urgent. You want to be part of a team that is all about racial equity, justice, inclusivity and celebrating our multitude of identities and experiences. And we do all this in a place you love.
You want to join our team for one year because you can sense that the impact -- in you, in us, and in the changemakers we serve -- will be lifelong.
You say, “Hell, yes” to Renata Soto, our founder, who insists that, “...as the South itself, this work is complicated, and beautiful - and also necessary - for our own sake and for the sake of our country’s future.”
If all this sounds like home, we want to holler at you. We hope to have the opportunity.
