Genny Castillo
Genny Castillo (she/her) is the deputy director for the Southern Economic Advancement Project (SEAP), dedicated to policy implementation in the South and ensuring the narrative change on progress. In her role, Genny established SEAP’s Policy Entrepreneur Program, a pioneering initiative to train nonprofit leaders in policy formulation and advocacy. Genny served as COO at BLUE Institute, Latinx constituency director at the Democratic Party of Georgia and director of caucus services for the Georgia House Democratic Caucus. She has received the 2022 Berry College Distinguished Alumni Award, been a 2023 Aspen Institute BIG Ideas Festival Fellow and participated in the Hispanics in Philanthropy Líderes program. Georgia Trend Magazine honored Genny in 2023 as part of their 40 under 40 list and in 2024 she was recognized as leader Under 40 for the Georgia First Generation Foundation. Genny holds a B.S. from Berry College and a masters of arts in social service administration from the University of Chicago.
