Justin Hua
Justin Hua (he/him) serves Emory University as the Director of the Asian Student Center where he leads his department in developing a hub for programming and creating space to support a sense of belonging for Asian Pacific Islander Desi American undergraduate, professional, and graduate student life while coordinating intersectional programming and student support within Emory Campus Life's Belonging and Community Justice cluster of identity spaces. As a student affairs practitioner and educator, Justin has over a decade of experience in residence life, multicultural affairs, and admissions & financial aid across postsecondary institutions in Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Justin's research and practitioner interests include culturally responsive student support, intercultural coalition building and group formation, and the relationship between identity consciousness, sense of belonging, and psychological safety/well-being. After earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Davidson College and his master’s degree in higher education administration from Vanderbilt University, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision at University of Georgia. Justin enjoys listening to podcasts on long commutes, enjoying Star Wars or Marvel content on Disney+, supporting local restaurants with his wife (Anita) and toddler (Hazel Rose), and grilling for friends and family.
