Renata Soto and Luis Ávila have collaborated, created and conspired across years of shared purpose — and shared fun. They've sat together at boardroom tables, dreamed ideas on bar napkins and, yes, have left it all on the dance floor.

In 2019, they crossed the US-Mexico border together. Luis introduced Renata to Tijuana’s layered richness and to the beauty and paradox of Valle de Guadalupe.

They designed this trip at his kitchen table in Phoenix — his hometown, and where this Sonoran Borderlands Journey begins.
